по английскому языку для студентов средних профессиональных учебных заведений

по теме: «Музыка в моей жизни».

Тема урока: «Музыка в моей жизни»

Тип урока: комбинированный

Цели урока:

Образовательные: тренировка фонетических, лексических и грамматических навыков; введение и активизация новой лексики по теме; ознакомление учащихся с музыкальными жанрами, с творчеством группы Битлз, с биографией и творчеством Луи Армстронга.

Развивающие: развивать коммуникативную компетенцию; развивать мыслительные и познавательные способности; развивать логическое мышление, память, внимание, наблюдательность, творческое воображение, языковую догадку; развивать умение сравнивать, анализировать и обобщать информацию.

Воспитательные: поддерживать интерес к изучению английского языка, воспитывать культуру общения, прививать уважение к традициям, культурному и историческому наследию народа страны изучаемого языка, развивать умение работать в коллективе.

Формирование УУД:

Личностные действия: формировать положительное отношение к процессу познания, учебно-познавательный интерес к новому материалу.

Регулятивные действия: определять тему и цель деятельности на уроке, план выполнения заданий;

Познавательные: уметь извлекать информацию, представленную в виде текста, уметь находить главное в тексте, уметь понимать английскую речь на слух.

Коммуникативные: уметь работать в группе, слушать и понимать других, участвовать в диалоге, коллективном обсуждении, аргументировать свое мнение.

Оборудование: доска, компьютер, раздаточный материал (Приложения ).

Ход урока

I. Организационный момент. Приветствие.

- Good morning! I’m glad to see you. How are you?

II. Постановка цели и задач урока. Мотивация учебной деятельности.

- Today we will talk about music, your favourite music styles. We will learn new information about famous musicians, listen to songs, and sing them of course.

Речевая зарядка (развитие слухового и речевого аппарата, создание атмосферы англоязычного общения, совершенствование фонетических, лексических навыков).

- What do you think?

  • Can people live without music?

  • Can you imagine your life without music?

  • Why is music so important?

  • Does music make you happy?

III. Основная часть урока.

Актуализация уже имеющихся у учaщихся знаний.

- There are many different kinds of music. Some of them appeared long ago and some are modern. And what music styles do you know?

S1: Rock.

- I want to know what music styles you prefer. For this task, I ask one of you to be our class correspondent. Please come here and ask your classmates about their favourite music styles.

(Приложение 1) Корреспондент спрашивает каждого о любимом музыкальном стиле и заносит результаты в таблицу, объявляет результаты.

- Let’s listen to three types of music and guess what kind of music it is. (Преподаватель включает музыкальные отрывки разных стилей, учащиеся угадывают.)

- And now you need to match the style of music with its definition.

Включение нового знания в систему

Now I divide you into two groups. The first group will get the text about the Beatles and the second group – the text about Louis Armstrong. Look through the text, try to find the important information and present it to us. You can discuss in your group. (Приложение 3, приложение 4)

Учащиеся обсуждают текст, ищут главную информацию. На листе бумаги формата А3 предлагается составить ассоциограмму (или ментальную карту) для презентации.

Первая группа выступает с презентацией своего текста.

Rock

This style of music is usually simple and doesn’t require deep thinking. Some of songs are cheerful, some of them are lyrical. Many people listen to it.


Folk

It is serious and emotional kind of music. It makes you an educated person. Its useful influence on people’s organism was proved by scientists.


Pop

It is a rhythmic style of music. It is music of young people. The best singers are Afro-Americans.


Classical Music

With this music style people feel strength and power. It appeared in the 1950 -s. it is connected with the names of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.


Rap

It is based on old traditions and sometimes it reflects historical events. It helps people to know more about the culture and traditions of the country.

The Beatles

The Beatles are one of the most famous and popular rock'n'roll groups in the world. The group shattered many sales records and had more than fifty top hit singles. The Beatles started a new era of music. Their music was unusual because most rock was strong beat with no melody, and they added melody to the rock. The Beatles also added strong and meaningful lyrics.

The group included George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and Richard Starkey (Ringo Starr). All of the Beatles where born and raised in Liverpool, England. John Lennon was the leader of the band, one of the two lead singers, the rhythm guitarist and a song writer. George Harrison was the lead guitarist. Paul McCartney was a song writer, one of the two lead singers, and a bassist. Ringo Starr played the drums.

The Beatles were discovered on November 9, 1961 by Brian Epstein, a manager of a record store in Liverpool. The Beatles early music was influenced by singers Bob Dilan, Chuck Berry and Elvis Presley. Their first two song were Love Me Do and Please, Please Me. After a while, their own musical ideas started to emerge, and their music developed from naive and simple to sophisticated.

In 1964, The Beatles came to New York City for the first time and were an instant success. They became world-famous. They introduced a new style in clothing and appearance, too. They wore their hair long and shaggy, and soon all over the world, people started wearing the Beatles haircut. They were so popular that 'Beatlemania' emerged.

In 1970, the world-famous and world-loved Beatles separated.

Louis Armstrong

Louis Armstrong is an American jazz legend. Armstrong was born in 1901 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He had little to eat and few clothes to wear. As a boy, Armstrong fell in love with jazz music. He decided to be a musician but had no money to buy an instrument.

When Armstrong was about 12 years old, something happened that changed the direction of his life. On New Year’s Eve, 1913, when Armstrong was celebrating, he fired a gun into the air. An angry police officer arrested him and he was sent to a reform school for boys. Fortunately, the school’s musical director recognized Armstrong’s talent and taught him to sing and play the cornet. After he was released from the boys’ home, he worked as a laborer by day and played with local bands at night. He borrowed a horn until he had money to buy one.

By 1918, Armstrong was playing on riverboats and with good black bands around New Orleans. In 1922, he moved to Chicago to play with the Creole Jazz Band.

Between 1925 and 1928, he recorded the “Hot Five” series of jazz records. Many people think this is the best jazz ever recorded. Armstrong became a role model for many jazz players.

In the early 1930s Armstrong started to travel all over the United States and Europe and soon became one of the most famous men in America. In the 1930s and 1940s, Armstrong played and sang with his own big dance band. His 1964 record, “Hello, Dolly,” and the 1968 song, “What A Wonderful World” both became number one hits.

He died in 1971.
