Speaker A. It’s large and spacious. There is a whiteboard, desks and a teacher’s table but the most interesting feature is the special graffiti wall. For example, if you don’t understand something, you can write your question on the wall and another student or teacher writes the answer.
Speaker B. I’m always glad to come to this room some time before the lesson and study the maps on the walls and samples of stones and rocks on the shelves. Yes, I find geography very interesting and it’s not a problem for me to spend hours writing out facts about famous travellers and their discoveries. My favourite classroom activity is studying and completing maps.
Speaker C. My grade for the Mathematics test was unusually high but I’m not happy about it at all. My friend Tracy isn’t talking to me because of this. The thing is that in the exam room I sat next to Tracy and she’s sure I copied the answers from her paper. That’s not true but she doesn’t believe me. She thinks I cheated and she hates any dishonesty.
Speaker D. I study in a large and modern school with well equipped classrooms, a good gym and a swimming pool. The latter are very important for me because I use them practically every day. When the lessons are over, my friend and I go to the gym to exercise or to play volleyball. Twice a week I have a swimming class and my friend does all kinds of experiments in the school chemistry laboratory.
Speaker E. Students’ performance depends a lot on their ability to research and look for information by themselves. On the shelves the books are arranged in the alphabetical order. To find the book you need to know the author. There is also an electronic catalogue and access to the internet resources. Just type in the key word to find whatever you want.

Extra trip to Arundel Castle: Tuesday
Dear Holiday-maker,
I’m writing to tell you about an extra trip we are arranging for Tuesday afternoon. We’ll be going to Arundel Castle, which is a tourists attraction about 40 miles from the Albion Hotel. A coach will be leaving at 10 a.m. and returning in time for your evening meal at 7 p.m.
The town of Arundel is very pretty, with pleasant walks down by the river and some interesting old shops. The castle stands on a hill outside the town and can be seen from miles around. There has been a castle on this site for almost 1,000 years, but the present building is not that old, so it’s certainly not an old ruin. The castle buildings are used as a home by the present owners, but quite a large part is open to the public.
Among the things to see at the castle are some lovely rooms. The library has a wonderful ceiling and there is a beautiful bedroom, once used by members of the royal family. There is furniture dating from the 16th century, a fine collection of old clocks and the picture gallery.
We will arrive at lunchtime and the castle has its own restaurant, which serves excellent home-made lunches. Traditional English afternoon tea is served in the restaurant from 3.00 p.m. at a very reasonable price.

Speaker A. I know that lots of student don’t like exams. They would prefer school without tests and exams at all, but I don’t it’s possible. Exams helps to major the progress we’ve made and helps us to understand what we have to improve. Students usually need some motivation to learn and exams are very effective way to make them study.
Speaker B. I have already taken 2 exams. I learn English as a foreign language. In the end of my course in the language school I had to take an exam. At first I was afraid of that, but then I managed to concentrate on the task. I made a few mistakes, but my grade was ok anyway. Later, when I had to take an exam in my art course I didn’t worry about it at all and everything went fine for that one too.
Speaker C If you want to pass your exam successfully, you should remember a few points. The first one – revise all the material you’ve learned, but not on the night before the exam. That night you should have a good sleep to be able concentrate on your tasks. Second: have a walk before you go to your classroom, it will help you to feel more relaxed.
Speaker D. It was my first exam and I feel frightened and uneasy. I’m quite good at mathematics, but there in the exam room I couldn’t concentrate. The first task took me much more time than it was supposed to. And I simply didn’t managed to complete the test on time. My grade was very low, I didn’t get a pass and I have to take it again in a month.
Speaker E. It could sound absolutely crazy for most students, but I don’t mind exams at all. More than that: passing the exams makes me feel good. It’s like doing sports to me, I have to make some afford to receive the result. And if I manage (and in the most cases I do) I feel very proud of myself. High grades motivate me to learn further. Low grades, if they happen, make an area to improvement.

Health Tips For Travellers
Travel is fun. Travel is exciting. But it’s not fun or exciting if you get ill.
Of course, you don’t want to spend your holiday ill in bed. What can you do to stay in good health? There three things you should remember when you travel: relax, sleep and eat well.
Think about what you do when you are a tourist. There so many places to visit: museums, shops, parks and churches. You may spend most days walking around these places. This can be very tiring. Your feet may hurt. You can get a terrible headache. If this is the way you feel, you should take a rest. A tired body is a weak body. And a weak body gets ill easily. So sit down for a few hours in a nice place or a cafe. You can learn a lot by watching people while you rest.
You shouldn’t forget about sleeping. If you want to stay healthy, you need to get a good night’s rest. You may have trouble sleeping at night when you travel. Your hotel room may be noisy or the bed may be uncomfortable. If this is true, change the room or the hotel.
Finally, if you want to stay in good shape, you must eat well. Your body needs fresh fruit and vegetables and some meat, milk or cheese. But you need to be careful about how much you eat. Try to avoid eating lots of rich food.
So, remember this: if you want to enjoy your holiday, take good care of yourself.
